Fertty Foundation:
for a more fertile future

Through training and outreach, we extend the Fertty method to promote reproductive health beyond the borders of our clinic.

Two founders so intrinsically connected to education could be expected to put their knowledge at the disposal of the new generations in order to train the best doctors of tomorrow.

Their passion for finding balance between personalisation and professionalization is what has led to Fertty’s commitment to training to improve the care and support of people with fertility problems.

Human Reproductive Medicine

Master’s Degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)

This is an educational and professional programme in reproductive medicine. Changing life patterns in the western world have led to a considerable increase in infertility and in the number of assisted reproduction techniques. Approximately 20% of couples will have a problem of infertility, 40% due to female reasons, 40% due to male reasons and 20% due to mixed causes. One of the most important causes of infertility in Western countries is the delay of conception by men and women, which is directly related to the probability of pregnancy.

The treatment of infertility is based on a specific therapy depending on the diagnosis and fundamentally on assisted reproduction techniques, which require a very high level of training and qualification. According to the Spanish Fertility Society, there are 190 Assisted Reproduction Centres in Spain authorised by the Ministry of Health. Barcelona is home to 15% of the total. The field of human reproduction is the area of gynaecology and biology where the most publications have been published in IF journals in recent decades. Almost all human reproduction journals are located in the first quartile of the speciality.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND STUDIES

The Fertty Foundation offers scholarships each year for its courses and training activities, considering scholarships for students as one of the pillars of education.

One can also apply for a training stay at our centre for periods of six months to one year, thus contributing to the development of specialities that require a specific training difficult to acquire.

Our researchers have had the privilege of attending the most renowned congresses in Reproductive Medicine both in Europe and America. Every year, the latest advances and results derived from all the research work carried out in our laboratories are presented.

Fertty organises professional conferences to bring medical advances closer together, which translates into the regular organisation of scientific events for healthcare professionals.

In November 2019, we organised our first International Symposium on Diet, Lifestyle and Reproduction at the Parc de Recerca Biomèdica in Barcelona, which dealt with topics such as the relationship between exposure to environmental pollutants and reproduction or how nutrition can influence the reproductive future of couples. It received prestigious specialists in the field from the United States and Europe such as Dr. Chavarro, Dr. Minguez Alarcon and Dr. Yiannakuris and a large representation of the best professionals in our country.
