It was more the consequence of a series of circumstances than something premeditated. In my early days I was passionate about reproductive endocrinology, pathologies such as polycystic ovary disease, hyperprolactinaemia or hypothalamic amenorrhoea associated with weight or stress were an unresolved challenge. Contraception and menopause were also on the rise. Gradually, most of these problems have been brought under control, while fertility has acquired a remarkable social importance, largely due to social changes, which do not favour it.

This was a project I had always wanted to start: to put your personal stamp on a way of doing reproduction in which the facts, i.e. the success in achieving a pregnancy and a healthy new-born, are just as important as the people who wish to fulfil their desire for motherhood.

I am one of those professionals who like to be direct and face situations, however complicated they may be, in a positive spirit. I don’t usually beat around the bush. I like to be realistic and not build castles in the air. People who come to me for help know that I will be 100% involved or more if necessary, and that I am the first to rejoice in successes and mourn failures. I like to think that I am part of the lives of the people I deal with.

There have been women with a capacity for suffering in the face of adversity that is admirable and therefore you always have fond memories of them. One failure after the other, they have persevered until achieving their goal. And all this without ever losing their trust in me. That is one of the most precious gifts we can receive, knowing that we have the complete trust of the people who come to our practice.

Unfortunately, I have very little free time. My family and friends complain about that. I like to run, because it allows me to sort out my thoughts and provides personal recollection. I also love reading, although I only do it during the summer holidays. I am a fan of any kind of sport. Oh, and food. I’m also very passionate about gastronomy.

Many people say I’m very serious, but that’s because I’m shy. With family and friends I’m outgoing, sincere, trusting, sometimes too much. And a friend of my friends.
