Spain is, together with the United States, the cradle of Reproductive Medicine. It is also the European country with the highest number of Assisted Reproduction treatments.

The quality of the medical services on offer, as well as the sustained advances made in research to perfect the treatments make the success rates and effectiveness a guarantee of success and a factor to be taken into account when a patient decides to travel abroad to start treatment.

More flexible legislation than other European countries

According to prevailing legislation on Assisted Reproduction, in Spain there are no legal restrictions, for example, in the case of single women who are considering becoming a mother or in cases where the couple is formed by two women and they wish to start a treatment for one of the two to become pregnant.

Moreover, unlike what happens in most European countries, in Spain the gamete donation act sets out that both sperm donors and egg donors must be anonymous, which increases the availability in gamete cryobanks and therefore there is no waiting time to start treatment with a donation.

International Connections:

Spain has daily air connections with the main European cities.

El Prat International Airport has several daily flights connecting the European capitals with Barcelona. In addition, it is close to the city and offers a variety of transport to the centre of Barcelona.

At all times you will have direct contact with members of the medical team in your own language to answer any questions that may arise during treatment.

Fertty has the latest technology applied to Assisted Reproduction.

Our In Vitro Fertilisation labs have the latest advances to optimise the results of the treatments, meaning you can achieve your goal as soon as possible.

In addition, our lab is divided into three totally different areas (In Vitro Fertilisation, Andrology and Cryopreservation) so that our embryologists and laboratory staff can carry out their work completely independently in exclusive work areas.

What to visit in Barcelona

Sagrada Familia Cathedral in spring, Barcelona, Spain

A few steps away from the clinic you will find Plaza de Catalunya, considered the centre of the city of Barcelona, some of the main streets of the city such as Las Ramblas, Paseo de Gracia or Rambla de Cataluña start from this point.

From here you can start your visit going down the Ramblas, where you can’t miss the Boqueria Market, the Cathedral and get lost in the streets of the Gothic Quarter and the Santa Caterina Market.

Just a 5 minute walk from our clinic you will find two must-see sights: the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Arc de Triomf.

Also very close to our clinic, you can walk along Paseo de Gracia, one of the main avenues of Barcelona where the most luxurious shops and outstanding works of modernist architecture, such as Casa Batlló and Casa Milá, share the same space.

Dear patients,

Before your visit to the Fertty Clinic, we would like to give you some advice, information and recommendations to make your arrival at the Clinic and your stay in Barcelona as pleasant as possible.

Fertty is located in the centre of the city of Barcelona; between the very central Plaza de Catalunya and the Arc de Triomf monument.

This privileged position makes it easily accessible by any means of public and private transport, from the airport or from different parts of the city.

From the airport

By Car

Getting to Fertty by car from the airport is one of the quickest and most direct ways to get here.

On leaving the airport, take the C-31 road towards Barcelona, and on entering the city follow Gran Vía de las Cortes Catalanas and continue to Plaza de Tetuán. When you get there, take the roundabout to the right onto Paseo de San Juan and turn right again onto Calle de Ausiàs Marc, and at number 25 you will see our clinic.

In total it will take you about 22 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

By Taxi (40 min)

At the exit of any airport terminal you can find a taxi service that will take you directly to the Clinic.

By Aerobus (50 min)

Line A1 or A2 depending on the terminal where your plane arrives until Plaza de Catalunya (third stop).

Once you arrive at Plaça de Catalunya you can easily reach the Clinic on foot:

By Metro (55 min)

From both airport terminals it is possible to reach the city with the Metro service. In the same terminal you can find the metro line 9.

Once you have arrived at Torrassa station you have to change to the Line 1 and get to Urquinaona station.

From Urquinaona station you can easily reach the clinic on foot:

By Train (50 min)

From the airport it is possible to reach the City Centre by train.

From the terminal 1 it is possible to take bus number 21 to get to the terminal 2.

From the same terminal 2 you can take the R2N train to the central Passeig de Gràcia station.

Once you have arrived at the station, you can walk to the clinic:

From Sants train station

By Car

To get to Fertty by car from the train station, take Avenida de Roma and go down Calle Vilamarí until you reach Gran Vía de las Cortes Catalanas and continue until you reach Plaza de Tetuán. When you get there, turn right towards Paseo de San Juan and turn right again on Calle de Ausiàs Marc, until you reach number 25.

In total it will take you between 15 and 20 minutes depending on the traffic.

By Taxi

If you are at the train station, at the exit at Plaza de Joan Peiró you will find the taxi rank at any time and you can reach the clinic in 15-20 minutes.

By Metro

Inside the train station you will find the metro. You can take line 3 to the Catalunya stop, and from there continue on foot following the Ronda de Sant Pere and when you reach Plaça d’Urquinaona take the street Ausiàs Marc 25.
