Interview
Why did you become a fertility expert?

I entered Medical School because I wished to help others. I am stimulated both personally and professionally when I can follow patients from start to finish in resolving a health issue. Fertility is a field where this is possible and because of current medical advances, and the forthcoming ones, prospects are even more encouraging.

Why are you proud to work at Fertty?

From the very beginning I felt the philosophy at Fertty was different. Patients are the very centre and our ultimate priority is to adapt and personalise the way we work to their needs. In that sense, both the team and the facilities at the clinic pursue the same goal and I could not be more satisfied of being part of this family.

What is your attitude with patients?

In the first place I like to create a climate of trust between the patient and the professional since I consider this improves the results of the whole process. Moreover, I like to be honest and transparent with patients, so that they get to understand their situation in detail and what treatment possibilities exist. Thus, they will be able to make an informed decision and choose the option the suits best their expectations.

Have there been patients who inspire you?

I believe that I end up learning something from every single patient I see in the clinics even though I might not always be aware of it. However, the most exceptional circumstances are the ones that leave the deepest mark. I have been positively surprised by the perseverance of some patients who, after various bad outcomes, struggle to overcome them and come back to the clinic for a new attempt.

How do you spend your spare time?

Whenever I have the chance I try to spend time outdoors and I like to go hiking, biking or scuba diving. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and, if I have a moment for myself, I love to grab a good book and a cup of tea. I am also keen on cooking and I always try to adapt traditional recipes and discover new flavours.

How would you describe your personality?

I consider myself a calm, flexible and tolerant person. I am very meticulous at work and if I have a goal in mind, I can be very persevering. I also truly believe in team work and mutual personal enrichment with other people.
